Today, we are celebrating the 42nd birthday of English actor Simon Pegg. He got his acting start in a slew of television series and made-for-TV movies, but Pegg managed to nab his first feature film role in 1999's Guest House Paradiso. He did not start to gain international acclaim until his 2004 film Shaun of the Dead, and from there, a star was born. Often teaming with friend Nick Frost, Simon has managed to make quite a name for himself on the comedic side of film. His other collaborations with Frost include 2007's Hot Fuzz and 2011's Paul, but he's also starred with the likes of Tom Cruise (in the Mission: Impossible franchise), Thandie Newton (in 2007's Run, Fatboy, Run) and a slew of big names in 2009's Star Trek reboot. Most recently, Pegg reprised his role of Benji Dunn in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol as well as offered his vocal talents for Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin. We'll next see him in the 2012 film, A Fantastic Fear of Everything. And so, to celebrate his birthday, I've listed my five favorite of Simon Pegg's roles, and I've supplied some videos for your viewing pleasure. Once again, happy birthday, Simon!
