Today we're celebrating the 48th birthday of Academy Award-winning actor,
Nicolas Cage. He made his feature film debut in 1982's
Fast Times at Ridgemont High, but he soon began to appear in more and more films in larger roles. He gained larger acclaim after appearances in the 1987 films
Raising Arizona and
Moonstruck. Cage worked frequently through 1996, when he won his first - and to date, sole - Oscar for his performance in
Leaving Las Vegas. He managed to nab another Oscar nomination for his leading role in 2002's
Adaptation. Since then, Cage has had a spot of financial trouble, and it has affected the films he's chosen in which to star. He has quickly become the butt of many a Hollywood joke, but at his roots, Cage is a talented actor who happens to be a victim of circumstance. So, for his birthday, I've listed my five favorite of Cage's performances. I hope you enjoy the videos. Once again, happy birthday Nic Cage!
